John 'Tex' Walsh

John Walsh ( and Shannon Brown ( are an acoustic duo based in the Bronx, NY.

John grew up in Kilkenny, Ireland surrounded by a rich musical heritage. His distinctive fingerpicking guitar style has made him a key player in the Traditional Irish community in New York for the past several years.  John has performed with Jameson’s Revenge, The Guilty Losers, Quartertown, Paddy Keenan, Brian Conway and many others. He is often described as one of the best Celtic guitar players available, showcasing his talent through both traditional tunes and his own compositions. His personal recordings include “aon dó trí”, “arís” “noreside”.

Shannon grew up in rural Appalachia steeped in classic country music. She holds a BFA in musical theater and has worked in New York City and regionally as an actor and music director. Shannon’s country cabaret, Moonshine Martinis, was performed at the Laurie Beechman Theater and Don’t Tell Mama, and led to the formation of her country band, Trailer Radio, which has performed across the NYC metro area since 2010.
