These 2 lads, Fransheen and Heavy D, have been serenading the pubs of West Cork (and occasionally the odd bewildered tourist) for longer than they care to remember and the young lad, Verling, is catching up. They have been spotted playing a broad too, nice girl she was.
Armed with a guitar, a banjo and a box (the musical kind, not the one for storing your troubles), they'll weave a tapestry of traditional Irish folk that'll have your feet tapping and your hands clapping (or maybe just reaching for another pint).
They've been told they have "voices of angels," but that was probably after someone spiked their Murphys with something stronger. Regardless, they sing with gusto, harmonizing like a flock of slightly inebriated seagulls. Between songs, you'll be treated to witty banter, questionable jokes, and stories that may or may not be true (depending on how many pints they've had).
If you're looking for an authentic Irish trad session with a healthy dose of craic and a few spilled pints, these lads are the ones to call. Just don't ask them to play "Danny Boy" - they've heard it enough to last a lifetime.
(P.S. They're in their 50s, so go easy on the moshing. Unless you're into hip replacements and physiotherapy.)
