Contraband is een vierkoppige Bluegrass/Americana band uit Amsterdam. Met vierstemmige zang en klassiek bluegrass-instrumentarium (fiddle, banjo, gitaar en contrabas) nemen ze oude traditionele muziek mee de 21e eeuw in. Rondwarend, drinkend en de algehele rust verstorend leveren ze graag het bewijs dat deze muziek nog net zo leeft als toen hij geschreven werd. Contraband wordt geholpen door het feit dat ze op elke straathoek, in elke kroeg en zelfs op de eerstvolgende rondvaartboot in Amsterdam stennis kunnen schoppen door hun akoestische instrumentarium. Als je goed luistert, vind je ze misschien ook bij jou in de buurt!

Contraband is a four-piece Bluegrass/Americana band from Amsterdam. With four-part harmonies and a classic bluegrass lineup (fiddle, banjo, guitar, and double bass), they bring traditional music into the 21st century. Wandering, drinking, and disturbing the peace wherever they go, they’re living proof that this music is just as alive today as when it was first written.

Contraband has the distinct advantage of being able to stir up trouble with their acoustic instruments on any street corner, in any bar, or even aboard the next canal boat in Amsterdam. If you listen closely, you might just find them somewhere near you!
